Celebrating the 2025 Art Against AIDS Victories with Wong Sze Yoong & Leong Sok Yeng

The year 2025 stands as a significant milestone for PELAKA. Our commitment to fostering local talent found its latest expression through a vibrant collaboration with two of Malaysia’s most compelling artistic voices. We are honored to announce that Wong Sze Yoong and Leong Sok Yeng have both secured major awards at the 2025 Art Against AIDS (AAA) competition, showcasing the profound impact that occurs when premium materials meet exceptional skill.

Capturing Humanity: Wong Sze Yoong

Award: Jury’s Pick

Winning Work:Satu Bumbung, Seribu Cerita

Serving as an artistic ally to Sze Yoong for this painting, we saw how his mastery of contemporary realism was elevated by our PELAKA Acrylic.  Satu Bumbung, Seribu Cerita is a testament to his ability to weave complex emotions into every brushstroke. Drawing inspiration from the subtle details we see in daily lives, Sze Yoong relied on the high pigment density and seamless blending capabilities of our paints, ensuring every detail remained as poignant as his vision.

Strength in Unity: Leong Sok Yeng

Award: Consolation Prize

Winning Work: Alone They are Strong, But Together They’re Powerful

In our 2025 synergy with Leong Sok Yeng, her bold aesthetic found its perfect match. Her winning piece reflects on how individual forms, each carrying its own presence and identity which will gain amplified power when they coexist as a whole. Through bold compositions and vibrant colour relationships, the piece visualises unity not as uniformity, but as harmony built from difference. Our role went beyond a mere supplier; we acted as a creative pillar, providing a palette that maintained its brilliant luminosity even in the most intense applications, allowing Sok Yeng’s message of collective power to resonate clearly with the audience.

At PELAKA, we believe that providing tools is just the beginning; supporting the artist’s journey is our true mission. We are humbled that for their 2025 success, these masters chose us as their creative companion. This victory reinforces our dedication to the Malaysian art community, proving that together, we can paint a more brilliant future.
